The Karnataka High Court will today take up the anticipatory bail petition filed by former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa.
Mr Yeddyurappa is being probed by the CBI in the illegal mining case. The allegation against the BJP strongman is that as chief minister, he allegedly received kickbacks for granting mining favours to some corporate companies.
Mr Yeddyurappa's sons and son-in-law are co-accused in the case. A CBI court in Bangalore had rejected anticipatory bail to Yeddyurappa days ago.
The CBI had on Saturday questioned Mr Yeddyurappa's sons BY Raghavendra, a sitting MP, BY Vijendra and son-in-law R N Sohan Kumar in connection with its probe into illegal mining.
Last month, the CBI had registered the FIR against Mr Yeddyurappa and others and raided their residential and other premises as part of the probe ordered by the Supreme Court on recommendations of the Central Empowered Committee set up by it to look into illegal mining.
