Singapore: The Karnataka state government will be wooing Japanese investments for setting up manufacturing industries at a road show it will be holding this week in Tokyo and Osaka.
"We will be addressing major manufacturers in the two Japanese cities and offer them the opportunities to invest in the state," said Karnataka's Minister for Large & Medium Industries Murugesh R Nirani.
Nirani highlighted investment required for manufacturing industries and renewable energy projects at a road-show held in Singapore on Monday. More than 200 investors attended the road show.
"We have the highest wind energy potential in India and there are opportunities for investing in aerospace, automobile and pharma industries among others," the minister said.
Nirani is leading a business delegation, promoting "Advantage Karnataka" mission, and the Global Investors Meet (GIM) to be held on June 7-8 in Bangalore.
The GIM aims to discuss a wider area of investments with international investors as part of the state government's plan to boost economic growth, he said.
The first edition of the GIM, held in June 2010, attracted investments worth $ 87 million, he said.
