Kochi:
Veteran Kathakali maestro Kalamandalam Rajan died on Wednesday after prolonged illness. He was 81.
Rajan is survived by his wife and a daughter. Due to age-related illnesses, the Kathkali maestro had not been able to perform for the last seven years, his family said.
Rajan had performed in India and abroad and was rated as one of the finest exponents of Kathakali, the traditional folk dance of Kerala.
He was cremated on Thursday morning in Kochi.
