Thiruvananthapuram:
Film star-turned-politician KB Ganesh Kumar, who first lost his cabinet post after his then wife accused him of domestic violence and then got divorced, on Friday married Bindu Menon at his ancestral home at Kottarakara near Thiruvananthapuram.
The 47-year-old Kumar, the forest minister in the Oommen Chandy cabinet, had to resign on April 2, 2014 after his then wife Yamini Thankachi met the chief minister with a written complaint of domestic violence being unleashed by him.
The issue moved on to the courts but in a few days, an out of court settlement was reached with Mr Kumar agreeing to give her the home they lived in and a huge sum of money.
After that, they had to wait for a period of six months and then returned before the court on October 22, 2013 when the divorce was granted.
The marriage ceremony on Friday was a closed door function with only close relatives and a few friends being invited for it.
It remains to be seen if Mr Chandy will take back Mr Kumar into the cabinet, when he revamps it after the Lok Sabha elections.
Mr Kumar is the lone legislator in the Kerala Congress (Pillai), led by his father R Balakrishna Pillai, who is one of the founders of the United Democratic Front - the present ruling coalition in the state.
