Thiruvananthapuram:
Kerala government is trying its best to check price rise of essential commodities, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said today.
Giving details of the steps taken by the government for open market intervention through Civil Supplies Corporation, Horticulture Corporation and Consumerfed, Mr Chandy said funds would not be problem for staking steps to control prices.
'We have sanctioned the amount sought by these agencies', and strict instructions have been issued to authorities to ensure quality and availability of items across the state.
Government is closely monitoring the situation especially in view of the coming Onam festival season, Chandy added.
On the letter written by KPCC President Ramesh Chennithala to government seeking additional initiatives to check prices, 'government look KPCC President suggestions in a positive way'.
