Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government is treading cautiously in the case of arraigned veteran Communist Party of India-Marxist leader VS Achuthanandan, an accused in a land scam case.
The state vigilance has already arraigned Achuthanandan as the prime accused in the land scam case involving his relative.
"We are in no hurry to conclude on this issue and we will look into all opinions before the state government decides on this case," Kerala Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan told reporters in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.
The government knows that any hurry to settle political scores could turn counter- productive given the status and stature of former chief minister Achuthanandan.
T. Asaf Ali informed the court that it's just a matter of time before the filing of the chargesheet in which Achuthanandan has been named as the prime accused along with four others including the then revenue minister and Communist Party of India leader K.P. Rajendran.
The cabinet also decided to cancel the land allotment at Kasargod district involving Soman, a former defence official.
