Kochi:
Kerala High Court on Wednesday dismissed a petition by hi-tech thief Bunty chor, alias Devinder Singh, challenging a lower court's order granting police his custody for questioning in a case relating to theft of costly goods, including a car from an NRI's house in Thiruvananthaparam.
Dismissing his petition, Justice K Harilal refused to interfere with the order of the Judicial First Class Magistrate's court at Thiruvananthapuram
Earlier, the government informed the High Court that Bunty was involved in about 700 burglary cases and was a notorious criminal. In order to prove the case against him, his police custody was essential, the government stated.
The accused contended that the order of the magistrate was 'illegal'.
