Thiruvananthapuram:
The Kerala assembly on Monday entered the record books by becoming the first in the country where legislators can now start using laptops and iPads on the floor of the house.
Speaker G Karthikeyan responded positively to the demand by Congress legislator TN Prathapan.
"The world is progressing in all respects and hence the use of laptops and iPads by legislators can be allowed," said Mr Karthikeyan.
On a lighter note, he reminded the legislators on the incident in the Karnataka assembly earlier this year when three ministers of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) government were caught watching a pornographic clip and had to resign.
