Thiruvananthpuram: Kerala Government has decided to set up an internal vigilance wing with a view to making Registration Department more transparent, Minister for Food, Public Distribution and Registration Anoop Jacob said.
Addressing a meet-the-press program, he said that many complaints were received due to the existence of a few corrupt officials in the department.
The department should be customer-friendly and for that facility of e-payment and single window clearance of documents would be implemented, he said.
He said that essential items, including vegetables, would be distributed through 61 outlets of state-owned Horti Corp and Supplyco at nominal prices. About 200 outlets would be opened within a week.
Answering to a question, he said that the pending arrears of paddy farmers would be cleared soon.
