Kiran Kumar Reddy resigns as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, quits Congress: Highlights
Hyderabad: Kiran Reddy resigns as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and quits Congress a day after after the Telangana bill is passed in the Lok Sabha.

Here are the highlights:

  • For seats and votes all political parties have done lot of harm to Telugu people; I condemn this
  • We progressed for 58 years together
  • Cabinet not brought as table item
  • Did not give time for us to study the Cabinet note
  • There were irregularities at every stage
  • They added all that we said was lacunae
  • I had said I would go if bill is presented in same form as sent to assembly but they made changes
  • Shameful that Telangana Bill was presented like robbers, hiding from people, putting off TV, throwing out those who were objecting
  • Nowhere has a bill rejected by state assembly been passed by the parliament
  • BJP also conspired to harm Telugu people, striking a secret deal
  • Government and opposition together enacted a drama and harmed Telugu people
  • I thank Congress for giving me the chief minister post
  • I feel bad that I could not stop Andhra Pradesh's bifurcation
  • My future is not important. If I had wanted to save my future I would have stayed in Congress and followed their diktats
  • I offered to resign immediately after CWC decision. Sonia Gandhi stopped me saying it is a difficult decision
