Rajahmundry:
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy will inaugurate Bhupathipalem reservoir, constructed at a cost of Rs 76.77 crore, in Rampachodavaram mandal of East Godavari district on Saturday.
Kiran Reddy, who will be on a three-day visit to the district, will take part in several programmes, official sources said in Rajahmundry today.
With construction of the medium irrigation project, 45 tribal villages of three 'mandals'- Gokavaram, Gangavaram and Rampachodavaram - will get drinking water. It will also help irrigate 23,000 acres of farmland, an official release said.
The project, which got permission in 2000 from Central Water Commission, is part of the State Government's ambitious water management programme 'Jalayagnam'.
