Bidar: A lecturer of a government polytechnic in Bidar was suspended for writing to Governor HR Bhardwaj seeking cancellation of his transfer order and enclosing a cheque of Rs one lakh, a top official said today.
The lecturer, Jayavant, sought Mr Bhardwaj's intervention seeking cancellation of his transfer from Chikmagalur to Bidar, Principal Secretary of Higher Education Mr Siddaiah told PTI.
He was placed under suspension on October 4 on the orders of the Governor, Mr Siddaiah said.
Jayavant had posted the letter on September 14, seeking cancellation of transfer for personal reasons.
The Governor's secretariat has directed the Karnataka Technical Education Department to initiate action against Jayavant for his act of indiscipline, Mr Siddaiah said.
