Lokayukta sleuths on Thursday raided seven places in Sirugappa taluk belonging to Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) MS Somalingappa and seized valuables, property and cash worth nearly Rs 60 lakh.
The items seized included a car worth Rs fourteen lakh and two tractors worth Rs six lakh. A site of 30 cents in Bellary and 10 cents in Hirehadlagi in his relative's name worth Rs 7.80 lakh were also sealed along with two bank accounts having Rs nine lakh, a Lokayukta statement said here today.
A house at Tekkalkote village in the name of his son, sale deeds of three acres at five different places worth Rs 1.33 lakh, Rs 2.13 lakh cash, gold and silver articles weighing 173 grams and 2.80 kg and documents of properties were also found.
The raid was conducted on a private complaint by B Eranna of Bellary district against Somalingappa in the Special Court, Prevention of Corruption Act, Bangalore, it said
