Madurai: A woman who resisted two persons from snatching her necklace died of deep cuts she suffered after it strangulated her, police said.
52-year-old Jeyarani, a private school teacher, was on her way to school this morning when two persons on a motorbike suddenly rammed her two wheeler.
Under the impact she fell down and the duo tried to snatch her chain, which she resisted and shouted for help.
Hearing her cries, locals rushed to the spot following which the duo escaped. However, the pressure from the chain on her neck strangulated her and she died on the spot.
Police are on the lookout for the duo.
