Bangalore:
A man was on Wednesday arrested for allegedly murdering his girlfriend over money to be paid as rent for the room they shared at Nelamanagala, about 27 km from Bangalore, police said.
The man, working for a private firm, and his girlfriend, a receptionist in a gym, were planning to get married and shift to a larger room. As he was running short of money, he asked her to arrange for Rs 20,000 which she refused, leading to a heated argument while they were riding a bike.
The man then stopped the bike and punched her hard below the temple, following which she fell unconscious. She was taken to a local hospital, where she was declared brought dead, police said.
