In a freak incident, a middle-aged man got entwined with TV cable wires in his neck and died while he was trying to escape from the public by jumping from terrace to terrace in the city today.
According to police, residents of Kattoor area said they saw a man jumping from one terrace to another around 3 AM.
In a bid to escape from the residents, who started chasing him, the person jumped on to a shed with steel plate roof and his neck got entwined in the cables and earth wire, they said. He died on the spot.
