Man-Eating Leopard Caught After Three Months in Tamil Nadu
Chennai: A leopard, which had evaded capture for the past three months after killing a man and a forest guard, was caught early this morning at Thimbam forest area in Tamil Nadu's Erode district.

The animal was caught in one of the four traps placed in the forest area. CCTV cameras too were in place, officials said.

The forest department had deployed more than hundred personnel to nab the animal after it killed a forest guard a few days ago.

On July 21, the cameras captured the movement of the leopard and some passengers of a bus noticed it lying near Thimbam checkpost the following day. After that, armed forest officials intensified the search.

Early this morning, the leopard entered a cage placed near the Thimbam Junction and was trapped.

Officials said the leopard is five years old and would be soon shifted to the Anna Zoological Park outside Chennai.
