Bangalore:
A 23-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly posing as the son of Karnataka Home Minister R Ashok and availing VIP passes to watch an IPL match at the Chinnaswamy stadium.
Umesh approached the sponsors and police officials to avail VIP passes worth Rs 55,000 each for himself and a friend Varun to watch the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals on April 15, a police statement said.
Both men were arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
Meanwhile, another person was arrested and sent to judicial custody for watching the same match on a "fake 500-rupees ticket."
