The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) in association with the State Endowments Department plans to organise
Mana Gudi functions at all temples in the state on the occasion of
Sravana Pournima, Lord Venkateswara Swamy's birth star celebrations on August 2.
These functions would be conducted at nearly 12,000 temples in the state, TTD Deputy Executive Officer K Susila said, addressing a press conference.
She said TTD would offer all materials like turmeric powder, 'kumkum', 'prasadam', 'rakhi' and cloth to temple deities to perform the puja as well as to distribute these among the devotees.
She said the material would be handed over to the endowments department for distributing the material to the temple in their respective areas.
Superintendent of Endowments Department, Visakhaptnam District T Annapurna said that the department had appointed in-charges to all mandals in the district to oversee arrangements, so that the material could be distributed to temples from today.
She said that the programme would be conducted at 600 identified temples in the district.
