Visakhapatnam : The first day of the two-day bandh called by Maoists of the Andhra-Orissa Border (AOB) to protest against 'Operation Greenhunt' failed to evoke any response.
There were no untoward incidents reported in any of the 11 mandals in the agency area, police said on Thursday.
Government offices, schools and commercial establishments functioned as usual, except in Paderu mandal, where some commercial establishments remained closed.
The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) which operated its regular services during the day, has suspended its night services, police said.
