A 22-year-old medical student was set on fire in Karnataka by a group of men who tried to rob him off his gold chain.
The student, Kameshwar Prasad, is being treated for his burns at a hospital in Bangalore.
He was returning to his room late Tuesday night in the Kolar district, 100 kilometres from Bangalore, when a group of men tried to steal his chain.
The police says that when he called for help, they poured an inflammable substance over him and then threw a lit matchstick at him.
Nobody has been arrested so far.
