Missing British nationals yet to be traced; boat found

Mandya: Uncertainty looms large on the fate of the two British nationals, Ian Turton and his friend Mike Eastern, who went missing on May 21 while river rafting in Cauvery though their boat has been traced, police said.

The boat in which the duo set out for rafting on May 19 has been found in Cauvery river between Sangama and Mekedatu in Mandya district, District Additional Superintendent of Police Rajanna told PTI.

Police are yet to ascertain how the boat reached the spot which they suspect to be infested with crocodiles.

Mr Rajanna said that the search operations to locate them were called off on Wednesday evening due to poor light and will resume on Thursday.
