Kalpetta (Wayanad):
Kerala food and civil supplies minister Anoop Jacob said on Friday that the Civil Supplies Corporation would start ten mobile Onam markets in the state.
Speaking at a meet-the-press programme organised by the Wayanad press club here, he said Chief minister Oommen Chandy would inaugurate the project in Thiruvananthapuram on August 13.
The Government was planning to implement the project in all taluks in the state from the next festive season, he said.
The market intervention by the civil supplies corporation had helped to curb the rising prices of commodities to some extent, he said, adding moreover the intervention of the 'Horticorp' also helped to reduce the prices of vegetables in the festive season.
SupplyCo would provide free outlets to sell vegetables procured by Horticorp.
