Chennai: AIADMK's Karthik Thondaiman, who emerged winner in the June 12 bye-election to the Pudukkottai Assembly constituency, will take oath as member of the Tamil Nadu assembly on Monday.
Assembly Speaker D Jayakumar will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Thondaiman, officials said.
Mr Thondaiman, secured 101,998 votes, defeating his nearest rival N Jahir Hussain of Desiya Murpokku Dravidar Kazhagam by 71,498 votes.
The by-poll was necessitated by the death of CPI legislator SP Muthukumaran in a road accident in April.
