Tuticorin: A nurse in a government hospital was shot at and stabbed at her residence in Tuticorin by some persons, who escaped after relieving her of her 11 sovereign gold chain, police said.
She was hospitalised with two bullets lodged in her body, one of which was removed.
She has been referred to the government hospital in Madurai for further treatment, they said.
Police said the woman was alone at home when some persons barged into the house from the rear side, shot and stabbed her before fleeing with her chain.
