Sivakasi: The foreman of a fireworks factory was arrested today in connection with fire and explosion there police said today.
One woman suffered injuries and eight sheds of the factory were gutted in the fire and explosions yesterday.
The explosion was so loud that they could be heard even in villages more than one KM away from the factory.
There were series of explosions for more than half an hour, before the fire service personnel could enter the factory.
District Collector Hariharan, District Revenue Officier Munisamy and DSP Michael Raj today inspected the factory.
Danraj, owner of a nearby fireworks factory, alleged that the owner of factory where explosions took place yesterday that the company had been "careless" in handling explosive chemicals leading to the explosions.
