Hyderabad:
A one-day-old baby girl was found abandoned, wrapped in a cloth by a roadside drain in Guntur district's Chilakaluripeta area.
She has now admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the district hospital after a passerby found her and intimated the police.
The police have registered a case under section 317 IPC (abandoning a minor under 12 years by parent/guardian) that is punishable with seven years in prison, or fine, or both.
The police are looking for the person who might have dumped the baby.
