Salem:
One person has been arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a four-year-old girl, police said today.
The man, in an inebriated state, had quarrelled with the girl's father last night at the latter's hotel near Salem and allegedly attempted to rape the girl, Salem SP Aswin Kotnis said.
Angry locals thrashed him and handed him over to police.
