Sivaganga : A spectator was killed and 29 others were injured on Saturday in a 'jallikattu' (taming of the bull sport) held at Kandupatti in the district as part of the annual Pongal festivities.
Velliyan of Orudhikottai was gored by a bull and died while being rushed to the hospital, police said.
Among the injured, most of them spectators, twenty-four were treated as outpatients at the local hospital and five persons had been admitted to hospitals in Sivaganga and Madurai.
A total of 41 bulls and 24 bull tamers took part in the jallikattu.
