Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today said a main objective of Mass Contact Programme was to have a first hand knowledge of difficulties faced by people in receiving various government services.
Inaugurating the programme -- 'Jana Samparka Paripadi' - at the Nehru Stadium in Kottayam, Mr Chandy said due to various rules people were not getting even their fair demands met.
One of the objective of the programmes was to change the rules for speedy rendering of government services to people, Mr Chandy said.
About 1500 police personnel have been deployed at the programme venue where arrangements had been made to accommodate some 10,000 persons.
State Ministers KM Mani, KC Joseph, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, Union Minister Kodikunil Suresh were present.
