Ooty: Police in Ooty have registered a case against a sepoy, who had allegedly attempted to rape an eight year old girl. The girl's parents are army officers and the sepoy was an assigned orderly (helper) at their quarters.
The incident took place on Thursday. The minor girl was left under the sepoy's care when he allegedly tried to sexually assault her.
Police say the sepoy would be arrested soon after the army hands him over to them.
The girl has been sent for medical examination. Police are investigating the case on the basis of the complaint given by her parents.
