Chennai: Panic prevailed for some time in the famous Ramanathaswamy temple after a fire cracker blast in a wedding was mistaken for a bomb, officals said.
Temple Manager Gakarin Raj said that the crackers were set off by some people attending the wedding ceremony, which made the devotees break into panic as they mistook it for a bomb.
He said that the crackers had been burst despite a ban on it by the temple authorities and added that the officials are mulling about banning the conduct of wedding ceremonies inside the complex.
He said that action would be taken against those who had set off the crackers.
