Coimbatore:
A detailed report will be sought about the incident in which a parcel containing large number of electronic items, including cellphones and batteries, was flung into the premises of the Central jail in Coimbatore from outside, a top police official said on Thursday.
"I will discuss and seek a detailed report on the issue," ADGP (Prisons) of Tamil Nadu S K Dogra told reporters after holding a meeting to review and inspect security measures with prison authorities.
A parcel containing cell phones, batteries, chargers, DVD players and CDs was flung into the premises of the jail from outside on June 25 and three wardens were placed under suspension. Some of the 1998 serial bomb blast case convicts are also lodged in the jail.
