Bangalore:
A pastor at the Hebron church in Bangalore has been detained by police for allegedly indulging in illegal conversions of school children.
Thirty one-year-old Victor Babu was detained on a complaint by a man and also after a large number of residents in the locality staged a protest, demanding action against him for his act, police said.
Tension gripped the locality following the protest, they said.
Police said that he has been charged under Section 295A (Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings or any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) of the Indian Penal Code.
They said that the pastor, under the guise of organising a summer camp for school children, was allegedly preaching verses of the Bible to 32 children attending the camp.
