Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu: Periyar Dravida Kazhagam leader Kolathur Mani was among 250 workers of various parties detained on Sunday while en route to Idianthakarai to express solidarity with anti nuclear activists agitating against Kundankulam Nuclear Power Plant.
Those arrested included leaders and activists of Naan Thamilar Iyakkam and Tamilnadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam.
Police said they planned to join People's Movement for Nuclear Energy Activists agitating against commissioning of the KNPP.
The PDK activists and others were detained soon after they left a religious place, they said.
