New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday greeted people of Karnataka on their state formation day - Kannada Rajyotsava.
"Greetings to people of Karnataka on Kannada Rajyotsava. May Karnataka scale new heights of progress in the years to come," PM Modi said.
Kannada Rajyotsava is celebrated on November 1 every year. On this day in 1956, all the Kannada language-speaking regions of southern India were merged to form the state of Karnataka.
The day is celebrated by organising literary and cultural fest and the chief minister honours those who contributed for enrichment of Kannada language and culture.
