Chamrajnagar:
A police constable allegedly shot himself dead with his service rifle near Chamrajnagar today, police said.
Mani, 24, committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in front of the Chamrajnagar Deputy Commissioner's office, Chamrajnagar SP P Rajendra Prasad said.
Mani reported for day duty and was given the responsibility of guarding the Deputy Commissioner's office, he said, adding, he was posted as constable since 2008.
A case has been registered and a probe is on to find the reason behind the constable taking the step, he said.
