Hyderabad: A professor of a private educational institute allegedly committed suicide on a railway track near Secunderabad station on Sunday, police said.

The body of Raghvendra Guruprasad, (around 45), was found lying on railway tracks near Secunderabad railway station on Sunday morning, they said, adding that Guruprasad killed himself by laying his neck on the rail line.

Meanwhile, his two sons whom he had taken along with him from his estranged wife on Saturday are missing from Malkajgiri area, police said, adding that it is not clear whether Guruprasad had taken them with him to the railway tracks.

Guruprasad and his wife were staying separately and he had been visiting his two sons once a week as per the direction of a local court, police inspector G Shekar Goud said.

"Yesterday also the professor came and took his two sons along with him. His body was (later) found on the tracks. Meanwhile, Guruprasad's wife approached Malkajgiri police complaining that her two sons went missing. Following a complaint by his wife we registered a missing case," Goud said.
