Hyderabad:
Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and other parties on Tuesday held protests at various places in the state demanding rollback of the recent power tariff hike by the government.
TRS leaders and workers held sit-ins and other forms of protest across Telangana region against the hike.
A large number of TRS workers and leaders held a protest at the headquarters of Andhra Pradesh Transco and Andhra Pradesh Genco against the hike.
"The burden on common man is enormous due to the power tariff hike. The government should immediately rollback the hike," TRS leader E Rajender told reporters.
"The Congress government came to power in 2009 on the promise of providing uninterrupted power for nine hours. They have failed to do so. And now this hike," TRS MLA K T Rama Rao said.
Meanwhile, the YSR Congress Party workers held protests at various places. Party Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy led a protest over the power tariff hike in West Godavari district, where he is presently campaigning for ensuing by polls to assembly seats.
