Chennai:
Protesting against India's insistence on imparting military training to Sri Lankan defence personnel and the proposed visit of Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse, pro-Tamil outfit VCK will stage a protest in Chennai tomorrow, the party announced today.
Party founder and Lok Sabha MP Thol.Thirumavalavan will lead the protest at Chennai against Minister of State for Defence Pallam Raju, besides opposing the visit of Rajapakse, a party spokesperson said.
Raju had recently justified training the Lankans in India, saying the island republic was a fiendly country, prompting widespread criticism in Tamil Nadu from all political parties, including Congress.
Rajapakse is slated to visit Madhya Pradesh on September 21 for a Buddhist function.
