Kochi:
The Kerala High Court upheld the election of PTA Rahim, the Left Democratic Front supported independent candidate who won from Kunnamangalam assembly constituency in Kozhikode.
Dismissing the petition by UC Raman of the Indian Union Muslim League challenging the election, Justice P Bhavadasan said that the petitioner failed to prove that Rahim was holding an office of profit on the eve of filing of nominations in the assembly elections held last year.
Rahim had won by a margin of 3158 votes.
Raman's petition had claimed that Rahim was holding an office of profit of Haj Committee Chairman during the time of filing of nominations.
