Puducherry: The Puducherry Assembly on Monday passed the Appropriation Bill earmarking Rs 5,540 crores to the government for fiscal year 2012-13. The bill was passed by voice vote.
"The Bill provides for appropriation out of the Consolidated Fund of Union Territory of Puducherry of the moneys required to meet the expenditure charged on the Consolidated Fund and the grants voted by the Legislative Assembly for the expenditure during the 2012-2013 fiscal", the statement of objects and reasons of the Bill, moved by Chief Minister N Rangasamy, said.
