Erode: The chairman of Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission would take a final decision on cancelling the TNPSC Group II exam held in Erode yesterday after reported leakage of question papers, in which regard a woman candidate is being questioned, police and revenue officials said.

The outcome of the enquiry would be intimated to the TNPSC chairman, who would decide whether the exams should be conducted again by cancelling the one held here yesterday", they said.

Police said the woman candidate is being questioned after some candidates who appeared for the exam complained that the question paper was leaked and suspected her involvement.

The exam was conducted in 77 centres in Erode district, including 44 centres here and more than 20000 candidates took the test.

At the centre, some candidates noticed the woman reportedly going through hand-written questions and answers prior to the exam. They informed invigilators later that they suspected that the question paper was leaked as hand written questions were similar to the ones in the original question paper.

Following this, Erode Revenue Divisional Officer Sugumar and police personnel took her to the Collectorate, where she was questioned by the Collector V K Shanmugam.

The woman reportedly told him her husband, a bus conductor, had given the hand-written questions and she was not aware from where he had got it.
