Thrissur: Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi arrived in Thrissur today to learn about Kerala's experience in panchayat raj system.
After a brief reception by Youth Congress leaders at the Kochi aiport, the Congress leader drove to Thrissur where he would be attending an academic session at the Kerala Institute of Local Administration (KILA).
The institute, which imparts theoretical and practical training to civic body members and officials on decentralized development from within and outside the state, would be making a 90-minute presentation for Mr Gandhi, KILA Director PP Balan said.
This would be followed by an interaction between Mr Gandhi and selected panchayat members and officials from different parts of the state.
Later in the day, Mr Gandhi is likely to interact with state Youth Congress functionaries.
