Thiruvananthapuram:
Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will take part in the party celebrations scheduled to be held in Thiruvananthapuram on May 18, which would also be the second anniversary of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy's Kerala government.
May 18 would also mark the concluding celebrations of the month-long state-wide yathra (tour) led by state Congress president Ramesh Chennithala.
Addressing reporters in Thiruvananthapura, Mr Chennithala said his tour would be flagged off by Mr Chandy on April 18 from the northern tip of the state in Kasargode district and the tour will culminate on May 18 in the capital.
"The yatra would pass through all the 140 assembly constituencies and there would be 140 public meetings during its course," said Mr Chennithala.
The tour would highlight polices of the Congress-led state and the central governments.
Mr Chennithala also tried to play down the bickering in the ruling United Democratic Front (UDF).
"It's the vibrancy of our parties that such things happen and nothing more needs to be seen into it. We are certain to resolve whatever issues are there," Mr Chennithala said.
