Rs 5.40 lakh worth banned tobacco seized in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: Banned tobacco products worth more than Rs five lakh were seized by police from a godown in the city today.

Based on a tip off, police raided the godown and seized gutkha sachets valued at Rs.5.40 lakhs.

The godown has been sealed and products sent for examination, police said.

Tobacco products have been banned in the state.
