East Godavari District Collector Neetu Kumari Prasad today said that loans worth Rs 9,222 crore will soon be released in the district from various banks for the financial year 2014-15 under the Potential Linked Plan (PLP) for various schemes.
"Under the Potential Linked Plan prepared by the National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development Board (NABARD) the district will get Rs 9,222 crore loans from various banks for various schemes," Neetu Kumari said.
She was speaking at the district-level bankers' consultative committee (DCC) meeting held Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh.
"There is a chance to provide Rs 5,512 crore for agriculture, Rs 1,303 crore for agriculture term loans, Rs 720 crore for important sectors and Rs 1,687 crore for other sectors in the district," NABARD AGM Somayajulu said.
The plan has been prepared as per the RBI guidelines and the rules of Kisan card for the benefit of farmers, he added.
Due to the Samaikyandhra stir in the district, somehow we have not achieved the expected results now we directed the concerned departments to complete the works, he added.
DCC Convener and Andhra Bank DGM V Satyanarayana Murthy urged to prepare a list of loan evaders and present it during the mandal-level meeting.
He stressed the need to recover bad and pending loans from the borrowers.
Agricultural Joint Director Vijaya Kumar said, Rs 143 crore cyclone Nilam input subsidy was released for the farmers whose crops were affected, out of which Rs 93 crore only deposited in farmers accounts and urged to take initiative to deposit the remaining amount in to the farmers account.
