Rs two crore sanctioned for infrastructure development in Kanyakumari

Kanyakumari: The Tamil Nadu Government has sanctioned Rs two crore for implementation of the self-sufficient scheme to provide infrastructure facilities in Kanayakumari district, Collector S Nagarajan has said.

Under the scheme with 50 per cent public contribution, in both rural and urban areas, projects could be implemented in 2012-13, a release said.

Additional buildings would be constructed in Adi Dravidar, scheduled tribe and tribal community schools, colleges, government hospitals, primary health centres, and health sub-centres among others, it said.

Those who wanted to contribute more than 50 per cent of the total estimated cost, could execute the entire work, it added.
