Security firm employee tortured, murdered; Rs 7 crore looted

Hyderabad: Unidentified people looted over Rs 7 crore from a private security firm after murdering an employee in Andhra Pradesh's East Godavari district, police said.

The incident took place in Rajahmundry town of the district in coastal Andhra, about 450 km from Hyderabad.

P. Srinivas was found murdered on Monday in the office of the Scientific Security Management Services, which delivers cash to the ATMs of the State Bank of India. Police said it appeared to be a well-planned murder.

The victim was tortured before the murder. The body bore stab injuries. The attackers also sprinkled chilli powder on the scene to prevent sniffer dogs from helping police in gathering vital clues.

The victim's family members said Srinivas had gone to office on Sunday evening after another employee had taken leave. When his colleague who was to relieve him reached the office on Monday, Srinivas was found murdered.

Srinivas's family members suspect the involvement of some other employees of the firm.
