Vijayawada: ATMs in Vijayawada and other parts of Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh have run out of cash following the closure of cooperative banks since Friday due to the ongoing strike against the bifurcation of the state.
Most of the ATMs had 'out of order' signs displayed since cash could not be deposited by private security agencies who carry out the task for banks.
This has caused a huge inconvenience to the general public and especially lodgers.
According to a manager of a bank, the situation may improve on Monday.
